The joy of the Lord is our strength! It provides us with protection throughout the day. The term strength signifies dwelling in safety, protection, a refuge, a stronghold, a place of safety, defense, fastness, and a harbor (of God). God has called us to be redeemed, chosen, His children, forgiven, predestined, citizens of heaven, and these purposes help us maintain a sound mind (self-control). According to 2 Timothy 1:7, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. Philippians 4:8 encourages us to focus on whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, and of good report; if there is any virtue or praise, think on these things. The things you have learned, received, heard, and seen in me, do them, and the God of peace will be with you. So let the joy of the Lord be your strength and fortress today!
Verse
Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

Psalms 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
